The Place and Purpose of Human Life on Earth -- A View from the Gurdjieff Teaching
New Renaissance Bookstore

Common sense (and science) affirm the interconnectedness of life: we breathe in oxygen produced by plants while plants absorb our exhaled carbon dioxide.
Everything depends on complex systems of mutual feeding, up and down the scales of life. Gurdjieff addressed our place and purpose in relation to
these scales, in our solar system and in the universe as a whole. Guided by our powers of inquiry -- and his teaching -- we begin to see the task before us,
and our duty. Members of the Gurdjieff Foundation of Oregon will present Gurdjieff's proposals and share personal reflections.
Short exercises in attention, and an example of Gurdjieff's music, will complete our evening program.
